What will I be doing?

PM Mechanic conducts machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance service.
Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

What qualifications do I need for this great opportunity?

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma
PREFERRED EDUCATION: Some college with electrical or mechanical studies.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: One year of experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior experience in a plastic or any other manufacturing environment would be preferred.

What are your primary duties to be successful in this role?

These are the essential job tasks or primary responsibilities that the individual who holds the position must be able to perform unaided or with the assistance of an accommodation.

Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on auxiliary equipment and production machines. Follows checklist for preventive maintenance on machine centers and facility equipment.
Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.
Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job.
Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.
Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Other Duties as needed or assigned by Maintenance Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.

Physical Requirements
This position requires to be able to access equipment to troubleshoot problems; requires continuous standing, climbing, and bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling; lifting to 50lbs. Ability to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or components.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and work in high, precarious places and where the sound and noise levels are loud and distracting. Employees are required to wear protective items such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, and hearing protection.
